There was no celebration of Democracy Day in Katsina on Monday as many residents stayed indoors for the better part of the day.
Business activities in the markets and commercial centres in the town also went on normally.
There was no official statement from the government to celebrate the day while there were no formal activities to mark the day, also.

Katsina state government has stopped Umar Abdullahi TATA from assisting the masses of Dutsi Local government area with bags of Maize as he set to launch operation ‘MU Kure Yunwa’ in Dutsi LG tomorrow.
The state government made the resolution after a security meeting with stakeholders and security agencies. The state government believed that the actions of Umar TATA if not stopped will pose a greater threat and slap to the government of APC.
